SS Private Japanese Lesson in Kyoto City

Teachers practice using Sasumata at school
picture from: Ubenippo

'Sasumata' is a two-pronged weapon for catching a criminal, which kindergartens, schools and other various facilities are equipped with, to protect people from attackers. With Sasumata, you could catch the criminal with a knife in his hand, while maintaining a safe distance from him.
There is a famous, gorgeous five-star hotel near some hills in the eastern area of Kyoto. Recently, a wild boar ran into this hotel. I heard the hotel staff caught the boar with Sasumata. When you imagine that, it is really a funny picture. I wish I could have watched it.
