Happy 2019!
Happy new year! Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu.
The new year's holiday, from the 1st to the 3rd of January, is the most important holiday for the Japanese. It is just like Christmas in Western countries. Many people visit a shrine to say their prayers during these days. My family and I went to Heian Jingu Shrine. It is a new shrine, built in 1895 in hopes of peace when Japan began its modernization after the extended chaos of the Samurai period
