the red Kyoto carrot

Although I was astonished by the black carrot in my previous blog, as a citizen of Kyoto, I am proud of this deep red one. It is called the "Kyoto carrot," and is regarded as one of the branded vegetables of my city. It is sweeter and less pungent-smelling than the normal orange-colored carrot, and although the red carrot is more tender, it is not boiled down easily. Children sometimes don't like carrots, but it has been said that there's no carrot-hating children in Kyoto.
