Yayoi Kusama is the most popular artist in Japan today. She was chosen as one of "the 100 most influential people" by TIME Magazine last year at the age of 87. She says that she sometimes had hallucinations as a child, and felt as if she'd disappear, being covered with dots. Now she is called "the queen of dots".
Her special exhibition has currently being held in Tokyo. I went to see it last weekend, and was inspired and energized by her works. It's no wonder that Kusama has so many fans.
