ex-student
Every year I teach an intensive Japanese course at a university in Kyoto. Since the university's exchange students are not my private students, they don't know how to reach me after going back to their countries. But one day, an ex-student who took the course several years ago managed to get in touch and visited me in Kyoto during his holiday trip to Japan. He said he had finished studying and now works for a big finance firm in his country and has a lot of Japanese clients. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy to know that the ex-student is now doing great things in his home country.
